The organization of this year’s Science Slam, an Austria-wide event in which scientists present their work in an entertaining way within 6 minutes, without a projector, was of course under the star of the pandemic. The Upper Austria qualification could not be held in the Posthof, as usual, but was broadcast directly to the living room via live stream – recorded in the Linz children’s theater Kuddelmuddel.

Our employee Florian Hammer from the Sensors and Communications department was invited by the organizer Bernhard Weingartner to take part. In a voluntary quarantine, filmed at night beyond childcare, Florian provided an inside into his work in the field of smart farming:

“What does farmer Franz have to do with artificial intelligence?”
