As part of the EUREKA project Test.EPS, the Linz Center of Mechatronics GmbH organized a measurement campaign in the outdoor rain plant at the Digitrans Test Center for Automated Driving, which was carried out jointly with Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH and the University of Graz.
The measurement campaign focused on testing a mobile sensor system for recording environmental conditions such as rain and wind, the so-called “Mobile Environmental Sensor Rack”. The collected data is used to log prevailing environmental conditions during tests of Environmental Perception Systems (EPS).
The campaign was successfully carried out with the sensor system on the roof of a tim station wagon. Another goal of the measurement campaign was to measure the effects of rain on EPSs such as lidar or radar.
