The goal of the recently launched EU project R-PODID (Budget € 23.7 Mio., 33 partners) is to develop an automated, cloud-less, short-term fault prediction for electric drives, power modules and power devices that can be integrated into power converters.

As a project partner, LCM is contributing its expertise in electric drive simulation and modeling. The project will develop novel machine models that offer reduced simulation time, and that will be used to simulate fault conditions and shutdown processes.

In cooperation with project partners AVL List GmbH, Silicon Austria Labs, Brno University of Technology and Johannes Kepler University Linz, a use case for safe handling of fault cases of the industrially widely used asynchronous machine is being developed.
