Simulation, optimization and prototyping

The agriculture of the future needs efficient, autonomous solutions that work reliably under harsh conditions. In this project, a robotic system was developed that is specifically designed for automated harvesting and weed control.
In addition to robustness and precision, the focus was also on cost-efficient implementation and the optimization of mechanics, drive and control – right up to the functional prototype for real field use.

Challenge & motivation

  • Autonomous harvesting and weeding
  • High demands on robustness
  • Tensile forces from 500-900 N
  • Payload of 7.5 kg
  • Operating frequency of 3 Hz
  • Focus on cost-effective implementation

Advantages for customers

  • Customized hydrodelta solution
  • Integrated concept for mechanics, drive and control (incl. path planning and inverse kinematics)
  • Ready-to-use functional prototype
