ASSET – A new form of consumerism

Post Consumerism research project

Sustainable product information system for retail stores

ASSET is an H2020 EU project in which a user-centered prototype smartphone app for retail stores was developed. The app evaluates all products in the store based on the user’s personal preferences.

Using indoor localization, only the relevant products are presented on the smartphone. Field tests were carried out in Estonia and Austria over several months. The results show that consumers are changing their behavior in the direction of sustainable shopping.

Project partners

LCM coordinated the project, developed the indoor localization and carried out the field test in Austrian retail stores.
