Weather data acquisition for autonomous driving

Post Project DisDAQ TestEPS Auto

Mobile data acquisition with DisDAQ

The international project Test.EPS (Environmental Perception Systems) dealt with the testing and verification of methods for autonomous driving and EPS.

In a measurement campaign on the test site of project partner DigiTrans, the mobile sensor system DisDAQ (Distributed Data acquisition and Algorithms Quiver) was successfully tested on the roof of a tim estate car and the effects of rain on EPSs such as lidar or radar were measured.

Project requirements

  • Evidence of actual weather conditions when testing ADAS/AD systems
  • Data acquisition and storage of raw data during the journey

The solution

  • WS400 weather station: temperature, humidity, precipitation (type, intensity), air pressure, road conditions, etc.
  • Road condition
  • 2D ultrasonic wind sensor
  • Precipitation sensor
  • 5G mobile communication
