InSecTT – Security and trustworthiness for the Internet of Things

Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT): The Logical Link Between AI and IoT
The fusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) into the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) is no coincidence – it is the natural evolution of both technologies. AI and IoT complement each other perfectly:
- AI enhances the value of IoT by translating large volumes of data into actionable insights through machine learning.
- IoT, in turn, empowers AI by acting as a data collector and provider, enabling continuous improvement of algorithms.
The European research project InSecTT (Intelligent Secure Trustable Things) is dedicated to precisely this synergy. Its goal is to develop intelligent, secure, and trustworthy systems for industrial applications, where AI and IoT work hand in hand.
InSecTT brings together 52 key partners from 12 countries (EU and Turkey). Together, they are developing holistic, cost-efficient solutions with end-to-end security, high interoperability, and trustworthy connectivity – tailored to industrial needs.
The LCM integrates artificial intelligence into industrial IoT devices and IoT communication to increase overall security and trustworthiness.
This is achieved through security measures at both the device level and the communication level. The aim is to prevent physical changes or remote attacks.
We test the security and robustness of a wireless sensor network for industrial applications in an improved testbed for wireless systems.
