Transfarm 4.0

The objectives of the Transfarm 4.0 project are to increase the share of direct participation of people working in agriculture in the precision farming sector and to strengthen the competitiveness of the extended European precision farming production supply chains.
Transfarm 4.0 will explore new demand-driven precision farming solutions to meet the needs of the agricultural workforce. Companies, clusters, research institutions and farmers interact in this project to bring new technological solutions to the market.
LCM is responsible for the organization and implementation of a “pilot action” on the topic of “smart and big data management”. This involves setting up a FIWARE-based cloud data collection system that allows farmers to monitor and analyze the relevant status data (plants, soil, weather) in a vineyard in order to optimize irrigation.
